Default Eco Mode?

What in the world does my Eco mode in my 2013 tC do? Manuals don't say it the damn website doesn't say it..

I sell cars so for the jist of it I understand what Eco mode does but, I want to know what it does exactly for my specific car

Dumb question but help me someone.

The Eco light? It just means that you're driving your car at its most efficient.

Pretty much increasing your MPG if you manage to keep the light on by not stepping in the gas pedal hard.

Team318 is correct. From the owner's manual:

If Eco Driving Indicator Light comes on, it indicates that you are driving at an Ecofriendly driving. In case of over-use of the accelerator that cause the vehicle to exceed Eco-friendly driving, Eco Driving Indicator Light will turn off.

That is correct. people seem to think whe you turn it off it changes shift points or makes your car faster or some nosense like that but all it does is show you when you car is begin the most gas efficient. it usually shuts off when you go over 2000 rpm

doesnt have anything to do with RPMs or being a certain rpm, i can be at 2500 and it'll be on, eco mode helps the car find its highest gear at the soonest possible point to save on gas... somewhat similiar to how some vehicles drop a cylinder during constant speeds to increase mpg, also causes a slight decrease in (hard) acceleration as a result

basically comes on when you maintain constant speed for periods of time and will knock out of eco mode when it sees a huge change in driving style, high increase in speeds or stopping

i drive with my ecomode off, and get the same results as if it were on

I just drove to new York an I realize couple things on an automatic tc:
eco light is turned off on sports/tripstronic mode
eco light is turned off after 2100 rpm
eco light is turned on at the most "ecofriendly efficient" mode for the mph (I can go 80mph cruise control and eco light came on) - this is kind of weird since when you hit 80mph your mpg usually dip a lot lower

You can also turn it off, on your odo button when it says eco on, hold it down for a few seconds and itll change to eco off.
