New Android Radio
All right so I was looking for a new radio, tho the factory one is nice and all I just feel that if it’s going to be a touch screen that it actually has to do something other than normal radio functions and plain navigation. Kind of like a smart radio in a sense well I searched for a few months and came across this guy on a FRS forum that had an Android powered radio called a CA-FI Dashlinq4. So I started to asked him questions not knowing what plugs the FRS used due to the facts that the FRS is a BRZ or a BRZ is a FRS. My main question is did Toyota/Subaru use Toyota plugs or Subaru plugs. Well come to find out the BRZ is a FRS because they used Toyota plugs. Witch CA-FI has a 200mm x 100mm Toyota universal unit that comes with the two main radio plugs and is used in all Toyota models. So now that I have my ducks in a row, I can go ahead and order $533 head unit.
When it came in the mail:
Things that are included in the box

After I got the unit installed in the car the startup was amazing, I thought it was going to take forever but it booted in a snap.
Video of startup, from when you normally just get in and go and then a forced restart, it has a 40 sec restart boot time. In my book that quite fast and it always starts the first way unless you reset it.
I have also loaded several of my favorite apps on this thing and its bad ___.
First and for most torque app
Angry birds:
Netflix:
Just to mention a few but that’s my 5 year old and she was glued to that thing, she was trying to get as close to the dash as possible. I have no clue why because the kids can see the thing from the back seat just fine during the day. Just to add in here there is two video outs just in case the kids can’t see it or you just want to add a couple of monitors, it also has inputs to easily set up a backup camera if that’s your thing I am kind of old school on that so I won’t be putting one on my car.
I almost forgot that it plays videos and music off several different USB devices.
Ok some before and after shots:
Before:

After:

I normally don’t write reviews on items but this was a must, I had too because I just couldn’t keep this thing hidden from other tC2 owners. It’s like having a high powered android tablet in you dash. That covers everything from a radio to the best trouble shooting tool you could have in your car. Entertainment for yourself or the kids whatever it may be this thing is one bad mother.
I just don’t recommend playing angry birds at 70 mph it’s not a good idea.
