Neat makes it look like a 6speed. How much?

Hector90 May 15, 2011 11:32 PM

Thanks, it was a completely custom boot but I think it was only like $50 including shiping.

I might buy some leather boots with white lacing.

I like...

jeffs42885 May 16, 2011 04:36 AM

how is the install on this?

Hector90 May 16, 2011 04:14 PM

It was pretty simple, Im working on a detailed install guide and I should have it up sometime tomorow.

looks nice,

did u have to go custom for the auto-boot? or is it the same as if you ordered it by going specifically to the tc2 page/order form?

goose_119 May 21, 2011 05:33 AM

looks good! just ordered both boots and armrest for my auto!

Id like for them to show an install instruction for this boot on the auto. It really makes things look nice. I may be able to use my existing manual shift knob on my automatic if that's the case.

It shouldn't be hard to install. Took me longer to write the instructions for the MT than actually install it

That looks great! I wish they had better pics of the door inserts.

MightyP Jul 26, 2011 10:13 PM

^ They're bad because the guy with them couldn't get any good ones! What so you want to see?

Scion202 Jul 26, 2011 10:34 PM

Go to MightyP's build thread, his car is the one pictured on redlines site, and he has several pics in his build thread.

I don't know why I can't get a decent picture of the inserts. Tried again today and these aren't much better. Maybe the leather came from a vampire cow...

will the boot work with TRD shift knob?????

topher86 Jul 27, 2011 03:20 AM

Hey Mighty, Did you do the Arm rest too? How much trouble was it to get the armrest and the door pannels installed.

MightyP Jul 27, 2011 07:08 AM

^ Yep, did everything they offer. Shift & E-brake boots, E-brake handle, Armrest cover and door inserts.

Other than the e-brake cover (which just slides on), the armrest cover is the easiest thing to install. You remove 3 screws to get the top off, slide the cover over, re-attach and you're done. Shouldn't take you more than 5 min.

Door panels are the most challenging, but very doable. When you remove the panels, you can either drill out the plastic welds or just pop them off. If you do a 2-tone design like mine, you have to make sure you like up the stripe first, then work your way out. If you get a solid color, then it doesn't matter. And be generous with the spray adhesive. When you put the panel back in, just be careful not to over-tighten the screws or they will go all the way through the door and show through. 30 min for the first door panel and 15 for the second one (cuz you'll know what you're doing)

MightyP Jul 27, 2011 07:10 AM

Oh, and take off the factory cover rather than gluing the leather over it. You'll notice in my pictures the passenger side has more wrinkles than the driver side. That's because I tried leaving the factory cover underneath to give the armrest more padding. Yeah, didn't work and I need to fix it.
