VSS Wire Location

Does anyone know where's the VSS and reverse wire location is on the '11 tC?

Attempting to install a new navigation unit. Pics would be great.

I am looking for this too. I was also thinking that since there is a NAV option for the radio it may be in the harness back there somewhere. Called the dealer and they told me to by the wiring harness manual for $150.

The reverse wire is runs along the drivers door sill and is red with 3 grey or sliver stripes on it. You could trace it up to the white connector in the left foot well to tap into it.

PM Scion Canada. He should be able to help you.

It's in the car, somewhere in the front area, probably also in the back near that one backup light.

Not to worry, no thanks are needed. Glad I was able to help.

:)

So I went to get the tint done on my new 2011 TC and was asking the guy about the Speed Sensor and Reverse. He was kind enough to research it for me and when I went back to pick up my ride this is what he told me.

Reverse Light is the white color wire behind the drivers kick panel in the harness to the rear. Noisey1eh mentioned red wire which may turn to white at the connector.

Speed Sense is blue wire in the 20 pin plug that plugs into the stock HU pin #3. This makes sense as there is the navigation option and why would they have to run a new wire to install it. Just plug and play.

I haven't tried it yet but if I get a chance tomorrow I will and report back.

I found it pretty cool of the guy to research this for me for no charge.

I just installed the pioneer avicz140bh into my 2011 TC. I tell you that reverse hook up took a while. I was looking for the wrong thing I guess. Anyways heres what i found to clear things up a bit.

Blue wire is like everyone has said here, Speed Sense is blue wire in the 20 pin plug that plugs into the stock HU pin #3.

Reverse is technically red with silver, however when I opened my kick, I found 3 red wires running to the rear. One with what looked to be "one" silver stripe, and two with two silver stripes. I opened the rear port to check what colour ran into my reverse lamp. and it was black to the rear connector (for positive lead from bulb to white rear connector) , and then changed to the red with "one" silver stripe (looks like one depending on how far you open the rear wiring harness) , spliced in and voila, working rearview camera.

Does anyone know where's the VSS and reverse wire location is on the '12 tC? Is it in the same location as the '11 tC? Where exactly is this 20 pin connector located? Be gentle, but what does HU stand for?
