2012 Scion tC Idle problem!!
#23
I regularly experience the idle speed dropping to around 500-550 when stopped. Most times it is when the HVAC is in defrost setting.
The ECU will cycle the AC clutch on/off when in defrost which will cause the RPM to drop at idle.
I drive a tC and I'm a Toyota/Scion technician. I doubt there is anything wrong with your car.

I mean, yeah, the RPMs are about right, it's just the shaking he's talking about. But that's all relative. He might be noticing regular vibrations and assume its a bad thing. We can't tell how bad it is.
