2013 tc
Hi guys...
Saw that scion has updated their site with the 2013 tc..... One thing I noticed is that they indicate the engine is a TDI (direct inject) for 2013. Has the 2.5 used in the the 2nd gen been always a TDI? Has anyone notice any other changes with the 2013? Thanks guys |
Where do you see that? The car is still rated at 180 horsepower and 23/31 mpg, so it's safe to assume the powerplant has remained untouched. And no, the 2AR-FE does not have direct injection.

Here's a youtube video of a 2013
Don't mistake the added accessories for changes. For instance the illuminated door sills are new 2013 additions, but don't come with the car stock. Without those added accessories I don't see any new changes at all. |
I've never seen the term TDI used outside of VW's diesel engines.
Edit: Just looked at Scion's website. That says direct ignition, not injection. All that means is that it has coilpacks instead of a distributor. Nothing new. |
