Default Cabin Air filter?

So essentially the dealership reccomended i change the cabin air filter in my car, wanted to charge my like 60$, i said ____ it id rather do it myself.

I looked in the manual, did some extensive googling, and i can't figure out how to pop open the glove box to do it, let alone figure out if the tc2 even HAS a cabin air filter.

anyone come across this so far and have an tips/info?

Go to autozone or pepboys, should be about $10 for the filter. Take everything out of the glovebox, push in on each side of the glove box "walls". There are tabs on each side preventing the glovebox from coming too far down. You will feel the glovebox come all the way forward. Behind it you will see a plastic cage for where the filter goes, its pretty obvious. Believe it or not it doesnt come from the factory with a cabin airfilter... Crazy i know

I had an air filter, but thanks for the tips removing the glove box, couldn't figure it out.

It's exactly the same way with the tc2 and 2.5 replacing the cabin air filter. The only thing I found out was that the '14 doesn't have a filter housing so I just popped mine in without it. still waaaay better than the "no filter" equipped with it.

I don't know if mine came from the port with one, but by the time I finally replaced it myself after my 25k free maintenance was over, it had one in there. And yeah that method works the same way for a few cars. My girl has a 2010 Corolla and the process is identical.

I have a 2014 as well, mine has a filter housing.. Maybe they droped it in at one of the free maintenance visits? Either way its definitely worth it, especially when youre defrosting.

charcoal is more for heavily polluted and smelly places, if you dont need it just grab the fabric non charcoal and it will get rid of dust and pollen.

buttt its 5 dollar difference. I feel if it helps some of the dirty air or skunk smell outside, its well worth its weight in gold.

Insane right? I can literally hold my breath and change it out lol. I use the TYC 800108C Lexus charcoal filters off Amazon for $14. Need to swap them out about every 6 months living in AZ.

$120 American dollars? Cabin filter? I would recommend staying away from this shop. Man, Cali has really gotten expensive......

Yeah Amazon or ebay may have bulk, just in case prices go out of control or out of stock. I had to wait 5 months to get my Wepon R Header.

Default Filter more

Could also be what filter they use, but 15.00 at autozone basic, 25 for a better with charcoal, or 45 for k and n. Anyway, 120 is way out of bounds.
