Question MOTORCYCLE TOWING

I own a 2015 Scion tc with no suspension mods, i was curious if any of you have seen a viable way to tow a motorcycle with the Scion tc. I have found some class 1 hitches that are meant to work and be compatible but the only good motorcycle carrier I found needs a class 3 or 4. I was wondering if maybe there was another one that I have not found that may be more specific to the Scion tc or should i just get an adapter.
Some more info: The bike is a HONDA CBR1000RR 2006 the hitch is Curt Trailer Hitch 1137(on autozone)and the carrier is Black Widow Heavy Duty Steel Motorcycle Carrier - 600 lb (on discountramps). Capacity. Looking to be able to tow it to the bike shop and back without the need to uber after dropping it off for a few days or have someone else tow it. The bike is well under 500lbs so I’m not worried much about if it can be towed but what type of hitch and carrier I should use. Any genuine experience in either hitches on Scions or other similar cars or how the use of an adapter to make the 1 1/2-inch hitch connect to the 2 inch carrier would be helpful.

Gettings bikes on & off those bumper carriers is PIA. It can be outright dangerous in ways it affects car's handing from too much tongue weight. Because of this, I doubt you can find anything higher than class-I bolt-on hitch. Adapters exist to go from higher-spec class 3 & 4 down to 1, but not other way around; not safe.

For single bike, DIY basic utility trailer kits from Harbor Freight or Northern Tool works just fine with Curt hitch. I've been using one to tow my bikes to tracks & races for over 30-yrs.

In pinch, when I loaned out trailer, I rented U-haul trailer. Horrible! It weighs 840-lbs by itself compared to 150-lbs for utility trailer. And weight balance was all off, putting over 500-lbs on tongue, just wrong!

The larger folding utility trailers can carry 2 bikes just fine. Here's going to Sears Point Sonoma raceway.

Can even haul LOTS of home-improvement building supplies.

Here's couple thousand pounds of sod. If you have automatic, recommend installing transmission oil-cooler.

I'm on 2nd wood platform now as they wear out from rain. Coated and painted bottom this time for added weather resistance. Also welded trailer beams together. Less noise and weight along with more strength. I'm adding 2nd chock to carry 2 bikes.

Chocks don't hold bike on because they'll rip your forks in half with any significant side loads. It's straps that hold bike onto trailer. So any basic chock will do.

Ok, your carrier is 600 pounds. Let's just say your bike is 400 pounds. The Curt hitch probably weighs 30 pounds. So that's 1030 pounds on your back bumper. More than a half ton. Your car's tongue capacity is probably closer to 200 pounds.

Have you considered a trailer? It will cost you more than a carrier but you could theoretically tow TWO bikes!

Here's a 4x6 trailer from Lowes that was modified to haul dirt. Obviously you wouldn't need the wood sides. The metal trailer weighs only 300 pounds, total. The net capacity is 1560 pounds so the total is less than a ton. Max tongue weight is 200 pounds. I bought the trailer in 2021 for $650. I think they're $1000 now. Wouldn't be surprised if Facebook marketplace has used ones for a fraction of the price.

Youtube has diy videos for bike trailer conversions. The one I recall was made from an old jet ski trailer.

Yes, Facebook is great source for trailers. Can pick up used 4x4 utility trailer for $200-300 and adapt to carry bikes. Put chock on tow-bar and it fits perfectly with optimised tongue weight. Be sure to get one with 12" wheels to handle freeway speeds.

In fact, these trailers are so light, you can even tow bikes with another bike!!
