Good point. I used to detail cars and didn't think about that... used a pressure washer to clean the engine bays.. just had to keep it at distance so as to not blast anything crucial

water is a non-issue w/this hood. After tiptoeing around hand washing for a couple months, I took it to an automatic carwash....no problem, barely any water got in, most of it goes straight out the bottom. A couple days ago I took it to the self wash bay and blasted the hood directly with the pressure sprayer just to see how much direct abuse I could subject it to. The only water that stays is in the outside channel around the air box and a little on the hoses. The plus side is you can use the little moisture and a rag to wipe down the bay. So the conclusion of my experiment is anything short of a tsunami is fine w/the hood.
