morning starts I hear it, all the oil runs down, and after a fresh start up I hear that rattle. reminds me of a bad guide, but simply is a second of no oil, perhaps something is plugging the hole

 

Aparently it that the cam gears don't line up with the vvt-i system properly. The tsb calls for new cam gears. Everybody says doesn't do anything at all tho other than not having the annoying noise. Some say if it's not obnoxiously loud it's just the hydraulic lifters.

 

I had a problem with my brand new '14. They took the sunroof completely out and re installed it. I noticed that there were rubber pieces that weren't on it before. The dealer said they didn't add anything new or do anything different, but there was something definitely different. Maybe something was installed backwards? idk. But it doesn't rattle anymore.
