Practical in my opinion. Btw, I prefer the BRZ.

I drove a FR-S because I considered trading in my tC for it. Once again, felt the styling was about the same, but I still do prefer the tC exterior. Interior wise, the tC looks better and is much more roomy and comfortable but the FR-S has a higher quality dashboard. The FR-S really only comfortably fits two, the backseat is nearly useless and the car lacks storage space. A performance car like it will be more prone to repairs, as well. It is a little too tiresome for long drives, too. It is a toy car. I love the FR-S and nearly pulled the trigger. I drive a LOT and the FR-S is not for me. Listen or don't listen, just test drive it and realize you are compromising about everything for some badass performance.

Thanks for all the input. I drove both cars the FR-S was fun but the seat bolsters are too tight for a long commute so I’m going with the tC.
The FR-S is sportier but I have a 65 Vette for the days I’m feeling squirrely. I think the tC will add the right middle ground between the truck and the Vette.

Now the only decision to be made is, will it be the 8.0 or sport package option.
Someone mentioned the Camaro I test drove that and didn’t like the lack of visibility. Drove the Genesis coupe and loved it but availability is none for the next few months.

I was trying to make the same choice and i went with the RS 8.0. the FR-S is nice but with basically no back seats and the front seats being so small
in the lat area I went with the RS. I am very happy with the RS, with the TRD parts it rides and handles great. The Five Designs Body Kit looks great.

Sweet man, I thought about the Genesis too cause of the looks, but I knew the whole time I was going to upgrade to tC2.
I'm sure the 8.0's are moving fast. But they arrive fun and ready to drive. If your NOT into lowering springs and a handful of add-ons leave
the 8.0 for some kid that wants it, and get yourself a tC in any color you want. Keep in mind the 8.0 ONLY comes in Red, and is a few $K's more.

I don't like how the non RS 8 tC looks and drives. If they didn't have the RS 8 at the dealer i never would have considered the Tc, I went there for the fr-s. The TRD suspension they used really improved the handling and looks of the car. It came down to the FR-S being really uncomfortable for me. I have wide shoulders and the
seat just did not fit me. They where also selling the FR-S for $6000 over MSRP, $31000 for a manual with the basic radio. the sales rep said that because they added aftermarket rims (____ty cheap rims) they didn't have to follow the Scion true pricing. There was no way i was paying that much for a car with a MSRP of 24,000

You can add TRD Springs to any tC2.

Do you think the RS8 with the springs is adjustable toe and camber?
I wonder if they fixed it for the Release Series.. just a thought.

no. the car is virtually unchanged from last year's model.

That's a big reason why I don't want a RS8, i like having full alignment kind of weird they didn't make anything to correct it.

I am going to be upset when they put a RS9 silver.0 lol

I personally think for your situation i'd go for tC2. (this is coming from a guy who is awaiting shipment of a tC2).. I like the FR-S,
but just wasn't me TBH, and if I was going to get one of the RWD cars i think it'd be the BRZ in blue. but yeah, all nice cars cant go wrong.

tC2 will be roomier, and you will be spending a whole lot of time inside the cockpit.. in the end of the day its you who will be the one driving and satisfied.

Haha, I finally looked at the RS8 pictures. Not bad. I do agree that the cockpit is very important, its like your bedroom. As far as the back seats...they are pretty much useless but we all know the seats
are there for insurance reasons. Personally, I drove the FR-S...I fell in love with the handling and that in itself was enough for me. Its such a fun and simple car. I applaud Subaru for the in-depth engineering.

Dealership market up. Don't buy any car that's selling for 6 above msrp. Plenty of people where I am located purchased the FR-S for 26 with tax and handling fees included.

Btw, I believe the FR-S will retain a great resale value. I can't say I have the same confidence for the tC2, even with a RS badge. But that rear exhaust, Mmmmmm. This is perhaps the best RS.

Thanks for all the input, you guys are awsome. I have decided to go with the tC
LOL at 49 I maybe the oldest member and 8.0 owner.....but what the hell my grandaughter is 10 now so maybe I will hand down the tC to her.

Now I just got to decide if it will be the 8.0 or sport package, auto or stick. 8.0 is suppose to arrive at the dealer next week and I want to take it for a drive and see the difference betwwen the two. Ony wish it came in white.

Anyone have problems with either transmission with performance upgrades?

I’m leaning towards the auto since I’m tired of driving stick, but if reliability is an issue I will stay away from it. Thinking of a Turbo or Supercharger down the road.

One reason I'm going to stay away from the FR-S is I already have a uncomfortable weekend driver LOL

I second his recommendation.
You can get the same TRD springs as a dealer installed option.
You can even get the TRD sway bars and still will be $2k cheaper than 8.0.

You dont like the center exit exhaust, body kit, limited edition badges or the flappy paddles? That would be reason enough to upgrade for me. A prepainted 5axis kit? yes please!

Plus that red is dope as hell, and I hate red cars unless they are 'rrari's .

The FRS, I wish they had a color like united grey (VW color). Asphalt/raven are too dark, and the silver is too light. Main reason I am not buying the frs first time around is a) dont want a car that is a first run model but the real reason is b) I'd rather have a special edition RS series FRS. Anything but that god awful voltage yellow color. I wish (and it would never happen) they would put out a midori green or something like a dark green with gold metal flake. Or even a burgundy like on the older porsche 944 turbos. I still think the dark green/gold flake would be **** though.

i dont hate red, i just dont like it.

i don't like black rims either, so i chose silver personally. i think he made a good choice going tC2 over FR-S,
he can get sways etc everything and still be under the price of the FR-S for his daily driver.

Dude if your 49 get an automatic tC, I hate shifting 6 gears, sounded fun at first lol. Do you need to be in a bright red car with a sports package? Just get a regular tC, save a few thousand dollars, and use that money to customize anything that you may still want.
Oh and get the spoiler otherwise the car will look like a girl with no ___ (rear end)...it just drops off.

But for the record the RS:8 is Dope as hell. I didnt want it because I didnt want all the mods done for me already lol, wheres the fun. Also a red car isnt my personality.

My color choices were this order:
1) Black
2) White
3) Nautical Blue (like my tC1)

BTW, its 2012, why can't we say ___ on this forum?? They say it on Prime Time television, along with ****, dick, *****.

a spoiler does exactly that. it spoils the rear end. Costs the same as sway bars that are actually useful. Its too big, and adds unneeded weight.
