Default tC2 Review: Snow!

Hey guys, my name is Geovanny and I live on the tiny island underneath the big apple, Long Island. In the past 24 hours the white blanket as we all know as snow came from the heavens. I was so not expecting any of it, well because the weather forecasters over here aren't always correct with what they say.
Anyways, I had to go into the city with my girlfriend to see The Phantom of the Opera, which by the way is phenomenal lol, and we had to go in for an early train. Not knowing that there was a 4" blanket on the ground and my baby(not referring to my girlfriend.) So while I was cleaning off the snow on my car,
I thought to myself.

Does anyone or has anyone driven the tC2 in snow yet?

I didn't know the answer so I felt special to be first one to do this review. So as we all know the tC2 is a front wheel drive, don't get me wrong ive never doubted Toyota in any way whatsoever. As I was backing outta my driveway, which I didn't even bother to clean, my car didn't get stuck at all in the 4" thick snow, and it was still coming down hard. The roads weren't even touched by plows yet so I was driving my car like it was all wheel drive, which for a moment kinda felt like it. Cars were spinning outta control and I just drove past then waving lol. So as the day went by... well that's pretty much it because hey, the tC2 does wonders in the snow.

Love it!

Agreed. i took mine out in about 4" of snow today to mess around and get a feel for it and I was pleasantly surprised. It did not get stuck and Trac control did a good job keeping the wheels from spinning. Good Job tC!

Yea yo, I took trac control off to see if there would be a difference but not at all, even with it off it still sticks to the ground extremely well.

I turned it off too but mine was spinning like crazy but still had some traction. Then again I was not driving normally or on a street

Sweet man. Yeah I've been through an couple snows with mine over the year I've had it and I've never been disappointed. The way the car feels always gives me confidence and I haven't had anything random or crazy happen yet! Glad it's the same with you!

Surprises me since that tC2 isn't exactly an all-new platform.

Luckily NYC doesn't get as much snow as other places where you have to wear snow tires or else you will be spinning out.

Up here when it snows the stock Toyo's are crap. But throw on some winter tires and the tC handles the road without any problems.

First winter with my tC and so far no complaints. I just wish more cars had winter tires on. It just takes one car to cause a chain reaction and damage half a dozen other cars.

Yea, I was with my GF in Elmont, Long Island and my streets were not plowed as well and my car move thru the snow better than her all wheel drive BMW.
She was def upset and not to mention her BMW can beat my tC light to light but after 60 her BMW is God.
She only has 328xi but that thing moves at high speed! tC is amazing in the snow, my traction light was barely coming on!

TC2 + snow tires = fan blanking-tastic! i have a very steep driveway and i live in the snow belt of Ohio. i get lake effect snow and i have yet to have any problem. i can crawl out of my drive and it wont even slip. if you get a good amount of snow i would recommend spending a little extra on snow tires so you can not only go in the snow, but stopping is way more important. trust me it makes a world of difference compared to the stock tires

I live on an island under NYC too. Didn't notice until you brought it up but I had my trac control and vsc off and didn't notice any grip loss either with the past snowfall (about 4 in in staten island)

Good to know. (had the controls off to see how well it would fair)

Is it just me or can you only turn traction control off when you are launching? As soon as I'm up to speed, it turns itself back on.

Do you turn TC off or do you hold it until both TC and VSC are off?
I always turn both off and they dont come back on for me. (cruising around 40 - 50 mph, havent tested going faster)
