Will dealerships change your oil if you have coilovers on?

Hey guys I heard that getting coilovers installed will prevent us from getting oil changes from the dealership.

Is that true or no?

Thanks

not true, they'll most likely bring it on the drive on lift

however at that point is when your screwed cause it wont be their fault when your front end scrapes the whole way up the ramps

BUT...

everyone ive ever known that is on coils, changes their own oil

bluefin1209 08-18-2013 10:08 PM

I want to take advantage of the oil changes from Toyota lol. Other then that I would normally do it myself.

jgj925 08-19-2013 02:46 AM

they'll change it because they want your money. i would do it myself if it were slammed though, otherwise its cool

bluefin1209 08-19-2013 03:07 AM

My car is still new so its still under the oil change plan, I only have 8k on my car., had it for only 7 months now.

jgj925 08-19-2013 03:10 AM

in that case, read the fine print of the plan or call the dealer

FreedomPenguin 08-19-2013 04:36 AM

Yes they provide 24 months or 2 oil changes whatever comes first.
If they can't get your car on the lift or whatever, im sure they just jack it up using stands and change oil that way? i dont see it being that big a deal honestly, or they could just give you the oil and you change it yourself.

Depending if your finance or leased...

If in Canada, I wouldn't do it as dealerships tend to write on your profile they have stating your car has been modified and warranty is completely gone. That's if your leased.

If finance, go for it. Just hope the technician you got loves aftermarket scenes and isn't the old dude that hates it.

i would still do it myself cuz when they use it they use the cheapest oil =/ to save money and time

SquallLHeart 08-20-2013 05:39 AM

they don't care.. they should change your oil without any problems.

^ funny stuff right there. Unless you don't like Mobil 1 oil and think its cheap oil then yes you are right in your own opinion. Our oil, in the shortest explanation, is Mobil 1 with our Toyota sticker slapped on the case.

I work at a Toyota and Scion dealer and it doesn't matter what you do to the car we will still change the oil. I recently did a tC with the TRD lowering springs. We simply use one of our low pro jacks and lift the car enough to get the lift arms underneath.

I will continue to change my oil at dealerships, 10k interval, full synthetic, 85 bucks? yeah, no problem. Its cheaper than old school non synthetic engines with 3-5k oil changes.

I enjoy my dealership and will give them business as they treat me right, and its not much more than doing it myself tbh, and I prefer the toyota oil, if it breaks down. They can't blame me, and if they use it in everything, then I trust it myself. oil is oil.

errol 08-21-2013 09:03 AM

idk how they changed my oil on my tc for being that slammed lol

dpanda88 08-21-2013 12:51 PM

not hard.. all they need is 2 blocks of 2 pile.. move your car up on it and use the hoist. Done deal

That's what I do lol
