Default 2011 tC Lowering spring install

Here is a quick video for anyone looking in to springs. Just goes over the process but it is really up to you whether you have the skill level required to do this. Hope this helps anyone looking into getting springs!

Great video... Wish it had been around a couple weeks ago. I didn't remove the lower end link and strong-armed the rear springs in. Oh well.

Thanks man! And I would have had it up sooner but just got them in and was too busy to get them on until now. Hopefully no one else will have to strong arm them in lol

This is what I've been waiting for! Also I am really torn between getting the TRD spring and just getting some S-techs.

Someone asked me the same question on my youtube account. S-techs have a lower drop and I think the trd springs might have a stiffer rate. 1stone says it handles a lot better with them on and in all honesty I feel the s-techs improve handling as well as long as they are installed right with an alignment (not everyone pushes in the hub getting proper camber on install) so they are both great springs from what I've heard. I just owe it to tein as they have always given me great products and I love the really low stance! Hope this helps

My main concern with the Stechs is that I will scrape and that the lowering will cause my stock struts to blow prematurely and may cause more stress on other parts. But i want to go lower just not slammed or anything near that.

Then I would go with h-techs or trd springs. S-techs eliminate wheel gap pretty much. But I don't scrape I just take it slow up big dips and it's fine. No issues so far

The biggest thing to keep in mind when buying suspension is no just drop, but performance. Lower isn't better for handling. While it may seem that way, it adversely effects your suspension geometry so that it can no longer do what it was supposed to do.

Higher spring rates and a lower center of gravity will give the sensation of better handling, but on a track it never works out that the lower the car the faster it is.

Just an FYI for those looking at various kits. And yes, I love my TRD's.

If you're concerned about extra wear and tear on your car, go with the TRDs. They are specifically designed to be plug 'n' play. But I love the height of the H-techs. Looks a lot like the stock ride height of BMWs. Car levels out a bit in hard corners, but is a little too soft (in my opinion) during normal driving. Given that I'm not going to spend a lot of time on the track, I'll probably just stick with my H-techs. But if 1stOne ever wants to hook me up with a set of TRDs...

I didn't push in on the brakes, but my camber came out fine. After an alignment, toe is great too. Caster is the only one I'm still wondering about. Difference between right and left is more than I would like.

Thanks for posting this, I got my TRD springs today and will most likely end up tackling this myself. I called one of the dealers and they quoted me $1200 to install

Doesn't the $399 quoted on scion.com for the TRD lowering springs include installation? I had a few accessories installed at my dealer and the price quoted on the site was the price for parts plus installation.

Default 2011 tC lowered with Tein S Tech's

Lowered this rascal and put lip kit on my car, but need adjustable upper control arms. Anyone know of any on market yet? I need to chill the camber about 1/2 to 3/4 degree.
