I think part #'s 26 and 27 are what's needed. Not 100% sure if you need both. I think I need to order some too, tired of the creaking/clicking..The parts are cheaper than I heard of others paying.. Anyways someone please correct me if I am wrong or missing something. I have never messed with a strut before owning this Tc.

 

This is perfect! I guess my last question is, how do you know the "correct way" to put them back together? obviously because they have been changed you can not line them up with a sharpie like it papa_bear's video.

 

not saying your wrong, but when i did my coilovers, i kept the OEM stock perches (#27 i believe in the diagram)...i initial had some creaking, so I took it apart and added #23 and #24 (which is a rubber sleeve and then a metal ring that looks to hold it down) and have had a smooth ride without any creaking sounds

take it FWIW.

they original believed you had to put them back the same way and had that in the video....but after further understanding (as told to me by MightyP) they figured out that there isn't really a "wrong way" to put them back...as in wrong way to line them up with a sharpie

 

Thanks KJ. I'll check to see if those parts are ok when and if I tear it down. Aside from the slight noise, nothing else is wrong.

 

So I took an alternate route and brought it to a mechanic, the only issue with mine was they were torqued to far down and causing them to rub against each other. We loosened them up a little (to manufacture specification) and viola! fixed!

 

I remember specifically telling my friend/mechanic that we needed to torque that nut as he cranked it down with the impact gun... I am going to give him soo much sh__ for this! Thanks for sharing, it makes perfect sense to me. I will check mine asap and update.

 

i just got my jdm sport lowering springs from a friend, i didnt get new bumpstops or should i cut these and if so how much so?

 

Judging by the sound of "jdm sport" I'd avoid putting them on entirely. Sound like cheap inferior Malaysian crap.

 

I've got TRD springs and they came with new bump stops...should i cut these? will it give me a little more drop... <3 the TRDs but theirs just a little wheel gap

 

Cut what ? The bump stops ? That won't do anything. N if u cut the springs well. Good luck with that. Your better to by new, eibach sportlines or tein s techs and sell the trd. If u do install yourself you'll break even. Still won't be low enough tho. Start saving for coils.
