Default 2015 Scion tC BC COILOVERS help

I recently got new BC COILOVERS but I haven't installed them yet because .. I read online that I would need new struts since I am going really low .. The question I have is do I need to buy shorter struts or will it be fine on my stock struts .. Ps. I only have 9k miles .. The mechanic says I don't need new struts and that I will be fine .. But on the other hand my friend says I need new and shorter struts ... I want to go about this right .. So HELP .. It's a 2015 Scion tC and I'm trying to put it on BC racing COILOVERS for the tc2

I second what the dude above me says.

I have BC Racing coilovers and it comes with new struts. The only time you'll need new struts is if you get coilover sleeves by themselves and want to go really low, or you do what a lot of people do and build their own setup.
