Lowering advice
I'm thinking about dropping my stock 2012 tC an inch or 2 in the next month or so. I was wondering since I'm going lower, will I need to change my struts or shocks or anything of that matter? I heard it won't make much of a difference.
Here's what I'm planning on getting... http://www.slickcar.com/details/5305...pring-kits.asp |
with the H&R Springs you plan to get..You can just use your Stock Struts w/o any problems.
Usually if you go Lower than 1.5" its a good idea to get Aftermarket Performance Struts because they can handle the Spring load better. |
Awesome! i was really hoping i wouldnt have to add anymore stuff when going lower. i was also told that it's a must i should get my wheels aligned right away?
Not right away...Wait at least a couple weeks so the Springs can "settle".
Awesome thank you! When tC drivers get lowered, whats a popular brand of choice?
dont get those. dont get any springs that lower front more than rear for tc2
from stock the rear is way higher than front so u want to neautralize that a bit by getting springs with lower rear end. if not then ur front will have zero wheel gap while in the rear you can fit a baby crib.... get these: http://www.autoanything.com/suspensi...9A3747629.aspx http://www.fastscions.com/Tanabe-DF2...C2-TDF160.aspx or these http://www.fastscions.com/tein-stech...n-tc-2011.aspx |
I'd go with the s-techs or the sport lines
Everything i think of going lower in the back just reminds me of my old prerunner lol
I have the S-techs and although the numbers show that the rear is a lower drop, in the end the rear still looks a lil higher than the front. The popular brands for lowest are Tein S-techs or Eibach Sportlines. A lot of talk on these forums between the two. As of right now there are no known after market struts and shocks.
plus if there were shocks it'd be a waste of $$ since if u add just a lil more, you'd be able to get coils.
just get these: http://www.beangarage.com/scion-tc/s...overs-scion-tc i think they are are like $830 if u use SCIONEDGE coupon but if thats too much then get eibach or stechs, i had eibach and they were great |
I'm going to look into those. thanks guys! Has anyone heard anything bad about H&Rs tho?
i've been on this forum for over a year and never heard anyone buy em
ive seen em for same but thats about it |
@scion202 how low do those Megan racing coils go?
~3 front and back
Thanks dude I'm ordering them tonight!
H&R are high quality stuff. Never heard anything bad about them. I just don't personal experience with them.
TRD is where its at in my opinion (Thanks Yuriy). i bottomed out more on stock springs, and the ride quality is not much different. the handling seemed to increase as well. TRD is a nice level drop that looks clean, and for the install everything fit like a glove and came with bump stops so you dont have to cut the stock ones
