Default TB Performance Products Traction Bar!

SURPRISE! TB Performance Products has been secretly working on a Traction Bar for the TC2...Having spent 2 years working on the Mazdaspeed3 Traction Bar we were able to make use of all our lessons learned in R&D to produce this Product!

Q and A section

Q: What kind of material is used for this brace?
A: The Traction Bar is currently made out of 1" 1040 mild carbon steel tubing with a 1/8th inch wall thickness and is cold bent to ensure a high strength brace. Once you get this out of the box you will immediately notice the "beefiness" of the brace

Q:Will the traction Bar fit automatic transmissions?
A: The Traction Bar has not been tested on an automatic however one is out for testing right now. More info will come in terms of this question

Q:Will The Traction Bar be significantly lower to the ground?
A: The brace will sit around 1/4" lower than the cross-member on your car. so in terms of a scrape hazard...no this part will most likely not scrape even if your car is lowered. Our Speed3 Traction Bar was much lower and has enjoyed a year of happy customers.

Q: This Brace looks like a "lower arm bar." What is the difference?
A: GOOD EYES! yes this piece is in fact properly referred to as a Lower Arm Bar however since it improves traction on launches and in corners we like to refer to these as TB Traction Bars.

Q: Does this brace cause rattles or rub on the exhaust or transmission?
A: No, in fact there is quite a bit of clearance between both the brace and exhaust/transmission. Even under hard driving in the mountains we did not hear or see any evidence of rubbing.

Q: Will I have to modify my car in any way to put this brace on?
A: No, at TB Performance we don't make braces that require you to cut or modify the car. It is a direct bolt on unit.

Q: How is the Traction Bar installed?
A: The brace simply requires you to loosen the two A arm bolts.(You dont even have to remove them!) and the brace slips right on!

Q:Where can I buy the Traction Bar?
A: Tbperformanceproducts.com and you can also purchase all our other braces there as well! The Traction Bar will also soon be available on BeanGarage.com

so what does it do exactly?

EDIT: found on ur website

After the success of the Mazdaspeed3 traction bar TB Performance is proud to announce the Traction Bar for the TC2. Made from 1" tubular 1040 steel, this piece works by tying the two A arms together. This unification will help eliminate wheel hop, tighten steering, and allow you to get on the throttle earlier in a corner. Power delivery was much smoother and easier to manage. Our test car showed a significant improvement in both straight line drag and cornering. We are the original Traction Bar producer for the Mazdaspeed and now wish to carry on the success and share the improvement with the Scion TC2 community. This piece will be one of your "best bang for your buck" modifications. Make your TC grip and get all your power to the wheels!

Getting rid of the wheel hop would be awesome but i have an auto. so ill wait.

wait what happened to the trunk brace? wasn't $50 only a couple month ago?

isn't this brace and a sway bar pretty much the same thing?

no...a sway bar is vastly different! This brace has zero flex in it. It is a stiff piece not a flexible suspension piece. It is a Lower Arm Bar and mounts in front of the sway bar and down lower. We currently do not make sway bars for the tc2.

As for the price increase. Yes it was 50 dollars a few months ago, however we changed materials(old distributor went out of business and got arrested) and started setting up distributors and as such the price change occurred. I will say this though. Where the prices sit is where they will stay. They are under market value and we are also the only company to be doing this kind of work for the tc2. We always want to make sure the customer is not getting ripped off. We could probably sell them for twice as much but at the end of the day I am a gear head who likes track and mountain runs like you guys. Why would I want to screw over fellow enthusiasts? The prices will remain here and not go up anymore.

Can you take a photo of that cross beam on your car...I'm nowhere near my car. If I remember correctly, there is a bottom plate across that beam that is only spot welded. I want to check my memory. That red bar is blocking the view in this photo.

@ Cemented, we got rid of our first batch already today! However we will be doing inventory on the Cpillars and the Traction bars tomorrow. We would ship Thursday with Wednesday being the holiday!

Not sure if trolling or just simply asking for a photo.

Curious to see of this helps the boosted guys. If so, would you be willing to make one for the xb2?

Too bad you all ain't in the Seattle area, I'd guarantee you'd get a ride no problem. Whether it be an xB, xB2, tC, xA, etc.
