Default TRD Big Brakes - What do you do with the rears?

I like my cars to have matching stuff on it. It looks nicer and balanced. When I get and install the TRD BBK, the front calipers will be aluminum and red - the rears will still be the castiron natural color! The front discs will be slotted...I think/hope. The rears will still have the solid face discs.

I'm sure I could get slotted rear discs from StopTech, but what are my options for the rear calipers? Does anybody have any suggestions? I would at least like to get them powder coated red to match the fronts.

The problem - this is a DD and I don't want to jackstand the car for the time required to send off the calipers to get powder coated and returned (we're talking weeks here!). Are there any exchange programs out there? Other suggestions welcome...

The rear calipers from factory are aluminum...

I would just paint them. The only gain you will have from the BBK is the ability to dissipate heat better. The rear brakes on this car are quiet large, so I wouldn't be worried about them fading under stress.

Aluminum is good! My bad...I just assumed they were iron...stupid me!

Does anybody have a set of rear calipers to loan me while I get mine powder coated?

you shouldnt need to powder coat them. theres red caliper paint at places like auto zone that can withstand the high temps of the calipers...much cheaper than powder coating...most people just use paint.

$20-$30 for paint, few hours of work and let sit for 24 hrs. Not a bad mod.

10% of the braking is done by the rear (approx.)...with that, I'll save my pennies for things that are actually useful.

I suppose you could replace the rear calipers with these? Replace the rear rotors with StopTech drilled rotors, and of course the StopTech SS brake lines and pads?

Then it would all look pretty much identical to the front? *Could* you install the StopTech 2 piston calipers in the rear??? anybody? hello?

No. It's not plug and play. You would need to fab up new brackets to hold the calipers. Complicated.

Just wondering if it's possible to give me all the specs for your brakes? This is a great mod. Keeping it in the Toyota family. And if possible. How much would you charge me to have a set of those custom brackets made for the rear calipers.

I've made 2 sets...
I'd sell you my full set of 4 caliper brackets for $2,000.00...

So if I bought 2 Trd brake kits. I could buy your rear caliber brackets for 1000 and it'll all work?

You're talking about two completly different things. As you can see by his pictures, he isn't using TRD brakes. His brakets are for those F sport brakes from some Lexus.

Well since he makes the brackets. He can make brackets for the Trd brake kit to fit the rears too no?
