Anyone got New Rims

I was wondering if anyone got new rims yet for their scion tc

2tCornot2tC 12-27-2010 02:55 PM

working on it right now...

Not yet...but I got the tires to go on them!

Rims are more of a "summer" thing. For those of you in the deep south, you don't know how lucky you are not to have winter...

I want a set of Enkei EDR9 black matte, but my wife has stated that my dreams are too expensive. I knew I should have waited to get married... Epic FAIL... at least I have the support of my 1 year old daughter

I've been watching this thread. so much complaining about the tC1 being 5x100 and no options for wheels...shakes head...so here is 5x114 and still not much going on. altho it's snowing in most of the country now. I woulda figure Cali peeps still goping strong. is it a cost thing? seeing as you start an inch bigger. most people want a +2 putting you in DUB territory now. options should be endless...just a thought and a question

I was looking into rims, but to much snow and I have winters with steelies. I like to stock rims so I may just get them painted black. I must also state my car will stay mainly stock as it is my DD.

1stOne 01-21-2011 12:58 AM

Come on now, mine is my DD and it's modded. I don't take that as a good excuse! Haha.

You know your lowering it and wheels...well, come summer you'll find something you want.

But your right, its winter in 2/3 of North America...I would doubt that many have picked up wheels just yet.

True say, but my job is dependent on having a car running 24/7. If I have a modded car and the reason I do not show up for a call is 'Turbo went' I get canned that second. Once I see some other modded TCs in real life I am sure my views will change. Speaking of which what can one do to an auto, but keep the outside mainly stock?

Dam262a 01-21-2011 01:57 AM

check out the zilvia forums they have sick ___ rims same bolt pattern as the 2nd gen's

Ah, I see. Your take on "modding" is slightly different then the one I was referring too.

I'm talking about some lowering springs, exhaust, maybe wheels, air intake, etc. Those are all parts that make it more enjoyable without directly affecting your reliability.

but if indeed u do wanna hit larger numbers, dont waste ur time with an intake or an exhaust if u going to turbo it.. just depends on ur income 8)

^Agree, but whats the point of having 300+whp when you have no limited slip? Tires, wheels, brakes, then spend money on power adders. That's how I'd do it anyways if I actually cared how fast my car went in a straight line.

XIEmperorIX 01-22-2011 12:35 AM

IMO suspension and drivetrain should come before power

MightyP 01-22-2011 05:05 AM

Hey, a thread I haven't read through before... and appropriate since I had an unfortunate incident involving my left front wheel and a car wash... >( I had always planned on waiting til I needed new tires and get the whole thing, but now I may have painted black rims until I buy new ones.

I am more of a mindset of 'all or none'. Granted my car is an auto, so there is no 'all' for it.

For rims I like black. Reason being is the car's body is white, but it has a black roof/windows and I think black looks nicer. Even if I got a black TC I think I would go with all black rims as I like the look of them. Just is what I like.
