Blister on stock tire sidewall
Ok so my wife managed to get a nice bubble/blister on the sidewall of a tire on her '11 Tc. They are stock tires with close to 22k on them and my question is, do I need to buy four new tires or can I just replace the front two and then just stagger them as they need replacing?
Obviously I'm talking about replacing with the same OEM tires that are on there now, Yoko Avid S34F.
To be honest I'm not too sure we'll be keeping the car for a whole lot longer so I'm hesitant to throw unnecessary money at it, but we do have a big trip coming up next week so I do need to do something about this bad tire. Thanks for the help.

if an extended warranty was purchased...MAYBE, but unlikely since tire "wear & tear" is too common to be covered
but back to the OP, for safety replace that one bad tire only.

Yeah I don't think it'll be under warranty, but replacing one tire is ok with 22k miles on the others?
If it is, I suppose I'll just put the new tire on one of the rears and I'll swap the rear tires up to the front for a while.

22K is about half the tread life...You're right on the ragged edge of needing to replace 2 tires. If you've got the money, you should do an axle at a time.
A blistered sidewall is a junk tire…drive as little as possible…and slower is better.
Measure the tread depth of a new tire and measure the tread depth of your other tire that is not blistered on the same axle. If you have more than half of the tread, you’ll be OK with just changing the one blistered tire.

good to know this, cause your not the only one... only mine happened on the first week of driving it and the dealer would not change it so....
other question, why are there some on toyo's and others on yoko's. I have yokohama's so don't why the difference...

Supply and demand. One tire company simply could not cover the entire order for alll the Tc's produced.
