LRR Tires anyone use them on a tc?
I recently bought a 2016 tc because my Jetta TDI had the turbo go out (thought the motor too....it's only the turbo). The jetta came with LRR tires and that is what I put on it when they wore out. I had heard other jetta owners complain they lost 3-4 mpg when going with NON LRR tires which translates in ~10% mpg loss.
This made me wonder if anyone has put any type of LRR of their tc? Discount tire carries several different brands of LRR in my stock tire size. Getting another 2-3mpg would be nice. Not sure if it would happen is why I ask.
I asked the question on another forum and it was a moderator who said "The torque of the tc will shred LRR tires". I had to laugh at him and reply "the jetta TDI has 236ft/lbs of torque which is much more than the tc". Not putting down the tc. just pointing out his poor assumption. Not a single additional post to that thread after that. Which is why I joined here :-)
