Will This Wheel fit? (Guide to Offsets and more)..

But no, I don't have any pictures to share, sorry. In my attempt to save up as much money as possible for my car parts, I've made A Lot of compromises (no smartphones, trendy clothes, and no digital camera to take and share pics).
Thanks for the kind words. Lol, to be honest (and I know some people hate this type of mentality), I just bought them over the other coilovers because they were more expensive, and therefore I figured they were better. Since then I've learned better

i was referring to having adjustable coilovers(which is awesome) and not the brand.
doesnt it say on the coils how much lower it is? still wating on ur offset
alright, 245 is already pretty wide. I wouldnt go with anything over 265. if ur tire is tucked in then simply stick ur finger between the fender and the tire and ull know how much room u got. tein spring rates are pretty high so if u stiffen up the shocks you can most likely fit 265. from the info u provided u should be pretty damn flush in the front already
Yes the stock tires will go on safely no problem. A few guys are running them on 18x9.5" wheels no problems... The +45 offset is what I and 90% of us would avoid. You will not like it later, but it is up to you. Go to a +35 offset at a minimum. I'd go to a 8.5" or 9" wide wheel myself. Don't be in a rush to order wheels, they are expensive and once you mount them you can't return them.
I am fairly new to this site and to this thread. I have however been a tC owner for a while and I currently drive a 2012 RS. I have been following this thread closly and doing a lot of calculations. I am looking at running a big wheel and I have done a lot of calculating and everything I see will fit. wanted to just get your guys opinions. I am building a show car, its not going to be real fast just have a CRAZY stance.
I am looking at 20 x 9.5 +35 wheels
I will be running NITTO Neo gen 225/35zr20 so they will be stretched a little bit. I will also be on Ksport Coils.
Let me know if you have any ideas

the offset is perfect so that u can fine tune CRAZYNESS of ur stance with 3-5mm spacers if needed
Thanks. I am excited to get my new wheels in. I have a test fit next week then they are going to a local custom shop for some color matching paintwork. When my Ksports come in and I get everything fine tuned ill post some pics up in the Stanced tC thread!

I asked this over on Club Scion tc (surely some of you must be there as well so forgive the repeat question) but I wanted to ask here and hope that someone could break it down to me 3rd grade style. I'm not like you boys. I only just started getting interested in changing up my car and this whole wheel size offset business is like friggin' Chinese to me and I'm not great at teaching myself things. Especially things involving math. I can't math. I was told by the guy at my local tire shop that these wheels wouldn't fit my car. Supposedly he even called XXR and asked and he told me I'd need to drop a wheel size. But a few guys at Club Scion told me they would in fact fit. I hope you can understand my mixed feelings on the issue since I would assume a guy who mounts tires for a living would know what he was talking about. I don't want to throw down money on something that I can't use. I obviously have a tc2. A 2012 to be exact. I am not dropped or anything of the sort. The wheels I want are these http://www.nlmotoring.com/XXR-527-Wh.../52788542n.htm
I linked the 20 offset but they also come in 35. Some of the guys at the other forum were trying to break down the offset and giving me charts and all but I don't learn that way well. I'm looking for a yes or a no. I appreciate the help.

yes will fit
Black Mamba had those on his fronts
+20 will look really good in the rear but not so much in the front
if you go with +35 then you will "never" rub (obvi if you slam it then the front will rub when you turn)

They are 18x8.75 +20 offset. She can use those with the stock tires and no lowering easily. She could get away with the TRD springs as well. Any lower than TRD's will rub on the front fenders. I would go +35 offset just to give yourself more clearance if you do lower the car later.. Also if you lower the car later, the front tires will rub with +20's unless you go to a smaller tire and/or roll the fenders for clearance. +35's will not.
Alicia, +20 will stick out 15mm more than the +35 will..The +35 will look great but not be as flush with the top of the fenders as the +20. All in what you want for looks. For best performance and mechanical reliability, go with the +35 offset.

I asked this on the other forum but I'll ask here as well since you all speak a language I understand. Is there any risk involved in deviating from the OEM tire specs? I'm not going to risk my car just for a set of nice looking rims. Again I'm still trying to understand all this stuff but if we're dealing in millimeters here then the difference between what I have currently and what I want seems really minimal but again I repeat - I can't math. It's quite sad actually.
My friend who is also not a car person so she was just speculating that maybe a tire company might not like mounting tires outside of the normal range for safety reasons? We were just trying to figure out why all of you are telling me I'd be more than fine when a guy who gets paid to mount tires told me I won't fit.
Thanks for the responses everyone. I was wondering today about what the differences would be as far as mechanics involved not just looks. I'm not yet at the point where I'm worried about details like that. I was just looking for a set of rims that I really liked that would fit. Baby steps.lol

+35 offset is close to stock and will feel and handle better than +20
also when you use lower offset than stock then you put more strain on all the parts that are connected to the wheel which could lead to premature failure of the parts but only in the far future
as for the place of install they only usually care about stretching tires or using larger diameter tires because both are not "safe"
as for mechanic.....it's a liability for him to advice anything outside of spec thats it
