2004 xA Rear wiper stuck on high speed..
 

OK, first time having an electrical issue with my xA after 6 years of ownership, my rear wiper seems to be "stuck" on the wash speed even when I'm not using that and if I click to the wash setting it doesn't do anything from "ON".
If I use the wash from the off position it does work, but the instant I put it to on from off it is going at the wash speed...

Please...help, before I take a 3/4 breaker bar to the f♡*&er!!!

You can remove the rear wiper arm. That will buy you some aggravation-free time to check the wire harness, motor and switch.

The symptoms are constant, not intermittent. You can temporarily rule out a faulty wire harness.

According to the 2006 xA Washer & Wiper pdf, the only motor problems are the auto-stop position and total motor failure. As you're experiencing neither of these symptoms, it sounds like a bad switch. Unfortunately, the switch test procedure is lengthy. You have to remove the switch and test the ohm readings of multiple pins on the switch connector.

I'd bet that there is an issue with the stalk on the steering column.
