2004 xA Rear wiper stuck on high speed..
OK, first time having an electrical issue with my xA after 6 years of ownership, my rear wiper seems to be "stuck" on the wash speed even when I'm not using that and if I click to the wash setting it doesn't do anything from "ON".
If I use the wash from the off position it does work, but the instant I put it to on from off it is going at the wash speed... Please...help, before I take a 3/4 breaker bar to the f♡*&er!!! *Moved to Correct Forum by Administrator Sticky Where to Post Your Question Sticky How To Advanced Search SL (Scion Life) ______________________________ |
You can remove the rear wiper arm. That will buy you some aggravation-free time to check the wire harness, motor and switch.
The symptoms are constant, not intermittent. You can temporarily rule out a faulty wire harness. According to the 2006 xA Washer & Wiper pdf, the only motor problems are the auto-stop position and total motor failure. As you're experiencing neither of these symptoms, it sounds like a bad switch. Unfortunately, the switch test procedure is lengthy. You have to remove the switch and test the ohm readings of multiple pins on the switch connector. |
I'd bet that there is an issue with the stalk on the steering column.
Link for an xB, but is the same as the xA. |
