Default Fog light anytime mod?

2006 xA

So I've been looking for a way to keep my fogs on when the car is on AND when the switch is activated. I at least want the fog lights to turn on when the car does and off with the car as well. The switch working would be a plus. I have a fuse tap and have been trying to figure out what does what...

This was a post on another thread from me describing what goes on...
"It's not the same... from what I've researched the fog light switch doesn't power the relay, instead it grounds it? From what I've tried this seems to be true... The switch on the back has 4 wires, one yellow with silver dots which goes to the fogs and turns them on when power is connected to it and the car is OFF, but once you turn the key the fogs turn off. Their is a red/blue cord which tells the headlights are on which will turn the headlights on when power is connected and the car is OFF, once the key is turned the headlights turn off. The middle two cords are green/white, I'm assuming these are grounds as their are three wires of this color going into the relay. I connected the power to the red wire going into the relay and got the fogs on, but they are always on even when the car is off (can't remember if switch turned them off either). I used a fuse tap to get the power and the weird part is I tapped into an ignition started fuse, but all the results I got were when the car was off and no key in the ignition... So I was confused on why the lights were coming on at all... I blew one fuse and decided to quit to do more research."

Any help would be appreciated...

run it to an ignition wire or fuse that is hot in the on position. and keep the switch on at all times unless you want them off!

You would think that would work lol I've got it in the fuse for the cig lighter and it still activated the fogs somehow...

I believe that may be a hot all times fuse... Try running it to an ignition wire

The wires going to the switch. Plugging in a fused wire that isn't hot into the red wire will turn the headlights on, into the yellow will turn the fogs on, grounding either green wire will spark and caused the parking lights to turn on and the noise that tells you you left the lights on. *that is all with no key in the ignition.

Fuse tap into the cig lighter.

This is the only option that turns the fog lights on when the car is on. It basically bypasses the switch.

I found this thread for XB2's. I can't find one for first gen XB's. Also, I can't find a wiring diagram for the XB2 to compare it to the XA's.

OK, I was bored and did some more searching. I found this for the first gen XB. This might work with the XA as well since they're so much a like.
