Installing Non-OEM foglights 2006 Scion xA

The only thing is, it doesn't have the plastic insert beauty rings. The cheapest I can find these inserts online is around $86 for both.
I think I'm just going to modify the plastic fillers for now. Then I'll just use my own wiring harness.
Has anyone tried this kind of install?

Should be pretty simple
1. cut hole in grill for fog lights. Hole-saw of matching diameter should work well.
2a. install wiring-harness. Start from both ends and work toward each other. Install switch inside cabin, run wiring out to engine-compartment. Install wiring at lights and work back towards battery and wiring from inside cabin.
or...
2b. look for factory fog-light wiring. Many cars have them pre-installed.

I found the Toyota fog light kit online for under $100 shipped. Comes with everything, and good instructions. I ordered and installed just a few months ago.
There's a sticky thread for this, too. Here's link to kit I bought.
