Rubbing with Kenstyle kit

Any Kenstyle owners experience rubbing when they they make semi-sharp/sharp turns?

I think it's the front lip, on the inside of the wheel well that is rubbing with the wheels. I'll try to get a picture up soon, but just wondering, any of you guys notice this?

I have the same problem, I think its more so that you're running 18's.

Oh btw, how much did you pay for your kenstyle kit, and is it the replica or authentic?

itzjere 05-10-2005 12:17 AM

I think it might be running 18's as well. I went out to check today while turning my wheel and it doesn't seem like it's rubbing against the kit. I never noticed it before but I guess I do more because I was more cautious once I got the kit on.

I got my kit done by BTuned in the Spons. Sale section. So $700 installed and painted. It's a replica, not authentic. I'm pretty happy with it. Don't think I would have noticed much of a difference in the replica and authentic except for maybe slightly better fitment. But even the authentic doesn't fit perfectly I hear.

Here's a picture:

yeah, the fitment is probably about the same, but I like having the real thing :-) Too damn expensive though hahaha...paid all I'm worth for the damn thing.

Very nice.. Yah, it is quiet expensive. But you have the grill and the wing. I'm looking to get the wing, but probably get the TRD grill instead.

Nice lookin xA. I gotta put my foglights back in. I had to take them out for the install.

Where'd you get your CF hood from?

sup1r1man 05-10-2005 05:17 AM

You should look into getting the carbon fiber one that autofashion is gonna be selling...they are only selling to ten I hear. I would get that one, but I kinda like having all the original pieces

Got mine from scionsport.com they sell TCSportline hoods, not a bad brand, fitment wasn't an issue and it's lighter than a backpack

itzjere 05-10-2005 05:28 AM

Yea, I saw the CF Wing group order. I'm looking to get into it but I don't think I'll be here when the order is done and everything. Going home for the summer.

Any close up pictures of the hood? Is it double sided? Any waves in the hood or anything?

sup1r1man 05-10-2005 05:34 AM

no waves, and it's only single sided, when I bought it the double sided one was too expensive

itzjere 05-10-2005 05:44 AM

Yea, I'm checking out their site right now and it seems like they only have a single sided one. I guess I'd wanna check out the FiberFX one. It's $300 compared to $360.

I'm so jealous, I wish I got the BSP xA...instead of my BOP

If I had gotten a BSP, I would have gone all out VIP

but instead I'm all racereyy..haha

itzjere 05-10-2005 06:37 AM

Haha, nothing wrong with racerey! You can still race 108hp car!

sup1r1man 05-10-2005 06:54 AM

hahaha good one

itzjere 05-10-2005 07:47 AM

I was just looking today, and I'm wondering, how do you lift your car now if you need to do work on it? I haven't tried the stock jack, but my current jack won't fit under it anymore. It barely fit when I didn't have the kit on.

JDMxB 05-10-2005 08:03 AM

Should have went all the way with the "real thing" and gotten TE37s...would have set the car off a lot better.

M-Flo 05-10-2005 08:03 AM

^^^ Easiest way would be to use a floor jack. 25 bucks at most auto stores and pays for itself in DIY oil changes :P

And even with the floor jack it might be a tight fit with the kit! Try driving up on some wooden planks to lift your car up then.

Itzjere, you got PM :D

itzjere 05-10-2005 08:14 AM

Hey Mike,

I replied your PM.

I have a floor jack already, but it was a really tight before the kit. Now with the skirts, I don't think I'll be able to slide it under anymore. I guess I will have to resort to ramps or something.

M-Flo 05-10-2005 08:27 AM

They also sell uber low race jacks, but they cost an arm and a leg

I guess that's the price we pay for driving nice cars :silly:

itzjere 05-10-2005 08:35 AM

Yea, I guess I could get a low profile jack.. The stock jack is pretty low. That or I guess I could get ramps or something.

I'll try out the stock one tomorrow. Wondering what other xA kitted owners are doing.

squirrel 05-10-2005 03:53 PM

I made some ramps out of 2x6s. Just so I could get a jack under my xB.
