Hello !
I recently got the Xa(used) a car i long wanted.
It came with two keys (black and grey)
i am using the black one.
also i got a remote control which is seperate (not built-in key)
it had no battery , which i had to buy and fit in from the local dealer.
The remote has two buttons (green/red) (unlock/lock)
There is also a small tiny red button under the dash near the HOOD latch

Ok the problem is that when i press the LOCK button the car locks/lights flash once/alarm chirps once, but after like 5 secs the alarm starts blaring (as if intruded)
and wont shut unless i press the UNLOCK button. UNLOCK works fine and unlocks the doors and stays quiet.
There is small LED beside the Headlight Adjustment **** near the Steering wheel which stays ON when i fiddle with the remote unless it stays off if i dont press any button.

I am completely cofused what to do, any ideas ??

 

sounds like an aftermarket alarm.

 

sounds like a bad alarm installation, or a really crappy one. find a good shop to take a look and either fix it, and/or replace it.

 

Did all 2005 xA's have keyless entry standard?
