Default 2006 HIN/Scion xA Team Build off: SEMA!

I don't really post on scion life much, just lurk. Anyways, I'm not sure if anyone really heard, but Scion and Hot Import Nights [HIN] held a contest. Three of the top teams in America were given a brand new Scion xA and a $15,000 budget. Each of the cars would be debuted at this year's SEMA. The three teams that were chosen were:

Team Hybrid; SoCal
Jade Crew; Florida
WR Team; Harrisburg, PA

I'm a part of WR Team, and I love the way our car looks. A lot of the club built this car from the ground up. All the labor was done by club members. Unfortunately we lost to hybrid. Their car was a bit over the top for my taste. But all 3 teams did a great job in their own style. Here are some pictures of all the cars along with a little mod list for each. let me know what you guys think.

i voted WR but will say I hate the color. EVERYTHING else is off the chain and I think all three were VERY well built. I like the whole feel and thought behind the WR car, but again, I hate the color!!!!!!! lol

Kudos for all of you and congrats on some KILLER builds

great job. did you ever think of vertical doors. Out of curiosity, how much would it cost to put a vertical door on a xA?

well to be honest vertical doors never crossed our mind. didnt seem to fit the flow of the car, and its not really our style. We have seen them done so much and we wanted to keep it fresh. Thats where the gutted interior and 14 point cage came from. We tried to incorporate newer ideas and still keep a clean car that flows well. This was tough since we had to try and incorporate the styles of all the people involved. but I think we pulled it off well. The blend of styles seems to work.

Is that Project Mu setup adapted for the xA or is there somewhere that I can purchase that complete setup?

I believe that was Jade that used them. As far as I know you can purchase that set up. Dont know much about it though as we used good old Wilwood.

Team Hybrid made those flares look great. Kept it flowing with the cars body lines.

Those scaras are nice. I've only seen those on VIPstyle cars. That raspberry color is hideous. You guys probably lost pts from that fo sho.

Not really a big fan of Jade crews race sytle theme.

the wilwoods worked out real nice.

As for the color. Im going to be getting a hold of some pictures that show off the color better. All of these pictures make it look dark and sort of Maroon. The actual color was real nice, bright very rasberry futia. Personally we all love the color, but to each their own. Love the feedback though. Keep it coming.

My favorite is the WRteam. I just love everything about it, especially the stance and seats.

haha nice. it's cool to know that we did well on this project.

this color is so tricky to photograph... for those who were out at sema and saw the car, you know that pretty much all of the pictures that have been posted do not do it any justice. sometimes it looks red, sometimes bright pink, sometimes purple. in person it is raspberry and while that may not make much sense to anyone if you saw it in person you would more than likely agree that is the best way to describe it. we wanted to do something different and unique... and also keep in mind that these cars will be used as marketing/advertising tools for Scion so it had to be something attention grabbing.
