Anyone considering trading in their xA for the Yaris?

I wouldn't trade in my xA for a Yaris, but I'm thinking about getting a Yaris and give my little sister my xA...or have my little sister get a Yaris and keep my xA. :D

yaris is only a two-door hatch....if it ever brought over the 5-door version, i might be tempted

They're unveiling the sedan (might be a hatch) at the LA Auto show in January.

yep there will be the 3 door and maybe the 4/5 door..

for 10 grand it'll be cool. put in scions transmission and add power it'll be quick.. kinda ugly imo. but smoked headlights , body kit 2.5 or more drop and it should be nice .

I am assuming that the Yaris 3 and 4 gear ratios wont be as low as the xA and xB. Meaning it might not be as loud inside compared to the xA and xB. The ride might be a bit softer on the body. Then again the Yaris is "Euro" inspired suspension.

No, Toyota did not copy the front end from Mazda. Toyota has had that front end design on their Euro-Only cars for a long time before Mazda copied it.

My wife's mom in Denmark has an '05 Yaris. She works for Toyota there. I've driven it, it's pretty similar to our '04 xA. Cheers.

That would be a dumb move. Besides, the xA is better than the Yaris. 5 door vs. 3 door, more standard features-and it looks better, IMHO. The Yaris is definitely a step down from an xA.

I have been playing around with the idea of trading in my xB for one... I think I will have to take a test drive to see if I like it or not.. If I got one, one of the first things I would do, is find a way to get the japanese body kit for it:

it shares the same gears as an echo from what i'm told. the scions/echo/yaris transmissions are the same the gears inside are what's different.

the front end isn't catching me eye sorry

I like the last generation Vitz/Yaris better,. I find the Honda Fit more appealing than the new Yaris.

Besides, the new Yaris is so similar to the xA, I wouldn't see a reason to trade it in. The last Yaris/Vitz was about 300 pounds lighter than the xA, which was awesome. But now they weigh pretty much the same, so there is no driving force for me to buy one..

From my understanding, its just a different final drive thats the difference between the two.
