Unless I'm missing something, and you are looking for more info than this, the service manuals are available right here on SL. Go to the page for the particular car (in this case xA) under the 'Scion Vehicles' tab at the top left of any page. Click on 'Scion xA', then look under 'Technical Links' on that page.

Service manual is right there. Granted, this is for an 04, and not an 06, but did that much really change in those 2 years? Should help you out with most issues.
