I am part of a Marketing class at North Central College in Naperville Illinois doing a consumer behavior project on why consumers purchase Scion automobiles. Please help us understand why. I never even got into this until I realized its a hobby that, while expensive at times, can easily be worked into just about any budget. How did you find out about the ability to customize your own car through Scion? >This forum and my bf. Do sales reps make it a sales point? In other words, did they offer it up as a possibility when you were shopping for the car? >Oddly mine touched on it, but never really brought it up again. Although (See link in my sig) I was a real "girl" not into cars, and he probably read that all over me at the time. What other vehicles did you consider before purchasing Scion? >Yaris 4 door, Nissan Versa, Kia Spectra :doh: , and cert-pre-owned under 15k. Have you bought any other customized products? If so, what were they? >Nada, see my siggi for more info on how this whole thing has changed me... XaMishy PS-Just FYI, more important in the car I picked was 1. Number of doors (4), Gas Mileage, and Brand Recognition. Might want to incorporate those as well. |

Yes, there is more aftermarket parts readily available How did you find out about the ability to customize your own car through Scion? I chose not to customize through Scion, too expensive Do sales reps make it a sales point? In other words, did they offer it up as a possibility when you were shopping for the car? Yes, they try to sell as many accessories on the car as possible so that they make profit What other vehicles did you consider before purchasing Scion? None. First time customizing a car, adequate aftermarket support How did you find out about the ability to customize your own car through Scion? I saw it on their website, but didn't get my parts through them. Do sales reps make it a sales point? In other words, did they offer it up as a possibility when you were shopping for the car? It wasn't mentioned during my buying process, but I'm sure they would have and I'm sure I would have declined. What other vehicles did you consider before purchasing Scion? Anything of quality $15k and under. Have you bought any other customized products? If so, what were they? Uhhh... I'm not from your country... |

Yes, from what I've read, the car comes apart much more easily than most. Also, there are lots of aftermarket products and support (tech articles and how-to's). How did you find out about the ability to customize your own car through Scion? When I first read that Toyota was coming out with a new marque, which emphasized customization and was aimed at younger people. Do sales reps make it a sales point? In other words, did they offer it up as a possibility when you were shopping for the car? My salesperson didn't really talk about it until I brought it up, then didn't say much. He simply talked about it as if it were any other Toyota on the lot. What other vehicles did you consider before purchasing Scion? I looked (on the web) at the Subaru WRX, Mistubishi Eclipse, Pontiac G6 coupe, Toyota Celica (used), Acura RSX, and Honda Civic. For the money, the tC had the most features and performance. It's as if the tC is in a class of it's own, in between slower cars with no options and faster cars that cost 4-13 thousand more than it. Have you bought any other customized products? If so, what were they? Not sure what this question means... I didn't buy a customized tC, it was bone stock with no options added. I customized it. :silly: |
