Hello all, I disconnected one of the injector wire harness connectors today to clean some spilled oil behind the injector rail. I forgot to plug it back in and started car. After it started running a little rough I realized I forgot to put it back in, however the check engine light came on. Do you know if it has to be reset or will it go off by itself? Thanks.

 

You can either get a OBD reader to reset the CEL or you can run through a few drive cycles and it will turn off by itself if the ECU detects there is nothing wrong.

 

disconnect the ground on the battery for 10 minutes

 

i did the same thing with my MAF sensor once... but that one just won't make my car start

 

Ok, thanks guys, it went off by itself, after like 10 minutes of driving, turned car off, turned it back on, and light went off.

 

you can just live it as such. no problem
