Defroster question

The AC automatically comes on (just the cold air not the indicator light) when I set my front panel selector to "Defroster". Is this normal, or do I have to visit my dealer for repair?

Normal.....it helps to dry out the incoming air. Just adjust the temp to your liking.

I think it also comes on when the temp dial is full cold and the selector is set to recirculate. Found this out on a cool morning.
