The END I didn't plan for
I am now officially a member "it is not IF, it is WHEN you roll it" rally community.
The END I haven't planned came in a form of large watermelon-sized boulder colliding with RF and RR tires at considerable speed during scheduled practice.
An attempt to avoid large and deep pot hole has gone bad. I did the flick and overshot the edge of the road. I hit the boulder, dragged it about 20 feet. RF tire locked up, vehicle spun, rolled and landed on it side half way on the roof in the ditch. (On the other side there was a drop of about 150 feet to the North Fork Snoqualmie river).
I got VERY lucky I didn't slide into it. Whew...
Disclaimer: Images might be offensive for those viewers who despise a though of taking their beloved SCIONS off-road.
1.The damage
2. Pesky boulder. I wonder who put it there?
Pesky boulder. I wonder who put it there?
3. Close up at perpetrator
4. The damage on RF wheel from the impact. It also destoyed RF strut, snapped in half. (further inspection revealed)

How long till your back on the road? Good luck w/insurance??

It is, spare tire no where to be found...(probably bounced down the cliff or elsewhere)
My xA is at body shop getting assessed for damage.
Preliminary results indicate body twist from impact and structural damage to the Driver's side roof line.
Yes, working with insurance....I hope it isn't totaled.
Thanks...

I want to raise from ashes....So Im getting another xA and plan build it up again. But this time go either Ksport or HotBits suspension setup. Plans for roll cage and roll-over shut-off valve are seriously considered.

Sorry your xA is gone, '04 was the best model year made and wish you luck finding another one. Saw someone on the forum looking for replacement engine cause they threw a rod, maybe you could buy back from ins. co. and sell the engine? They posted up in the engine/drivetrain forum...later
RIP xA
RIP xA

Insurance doesn't cover losses incurred while participating in timed events or practicing for timed events. So this would not be a legitimately covered loss.
