how do i increase the tension on the serp belt?

2005 xa....just had the waterpump and serp belt replaced last week, squeal started a couple of days ago...tension seems a little low...how do I tighten it?

To my knowledge, the serpentine belt on the xA is not adjustable.

I would think it has to be, I don't see any obvious tensioners though...maybe through the alternator?

It is, i believe it is with the alternator also, but i cant remember. when mine started squealing i made the dealership fix it

try the belt going to the alternator...get a crow bar or large screwdriver to pry with as u tighten the bolt. if it not that belt, theres the power steering one accessible through the passenger wheel well( need to remove wheel).

This was right! I had to get a pry bar and lift the alternator a bit and tighten the belts...no more squeal!!!

Thanks for your help everyone!
