how many times does your cooling fan kick in?

i know this is a random question but i'm very curious!
i live in orlando fl and i know its hot but i've never had a fan kick on soo many times while driving.
i don't do crazy long drives or anything..just about a 15 mile commute in the morning and back home at nite.
i feel like the fan kicks on every 3 minutes cools and then shuts off and kicks back on.
i used to own a saturn and then fan would never kick on so much..
i was wondering if all the xa's did it and if not i need to take it in to get checked out.
thanks for any imput!

it should kick on every time your engine temp gets a bit over 200, and this sounds normal.

if you are very concerned, take it to the dealer. If you want to know exactly what's going on inside your engine, pick up a Scangauge II and hard-wire it into your car.

its normal. my tc does it too.

I think it's normal also. I live in So. Cal where it gets hot if I'm stuck in traffic and the Temp. is over 85 I hear it run all the time. Just be sure to check the coolant level, mine ran low once and the car really lost power.

if your worried about it run your heat in your car with the fan on high

unless your running your a/c then your fan will kick on at around 180

Mine does the same thing... Temps here in Illinois have been in the upper 80's to mid-90's lately, and it's on more than it's off. Nothing to worry about, it is just serving it's function:)

I'm up in WI and the temps here have been in the upper 80s and lower 90s. I've only noticed it come on two or three times. Usually when I'm waiting at a McDonalds or something. Maybe I just dont even hear it when I'm driving. It's pretty dang quiet.

The fan has 2 speeds. Low is almost silent and runs with no ac when the car needs extra cooling, high is used for cooling when the ac is on. When ac is on the low speed is on constantly.

Ah, I rarely used AC. Having the windows down and moonroof open is enough to keep me cool up here. If I were in Florida I'd probably have the AC on 24/7.

Something you can do is buy+ add some Redline Water-Wetter to your radiator. This will kick down your engine temps by about 10 degrees(plus it helps lube your water pump).

Stay with the tried/true Toyota Red coolent as well.

If you want to go super cool running... maybe just for the summer time, run the Redline water-wetter with just distilled H2O .... thats the ultimate way of having the coolest running engine. Toy. does a great job with disipating engine heat BTW.
