Default Opinions of TRD exhaust

I've pretty much decided on a TRD exhaust for my Xa. If you have one are you happy with it? Does it drone in the car at cruising speed? Can you feel any difference in power?Do you have any sound recordings you can post? Thank You in advance

well i got it, sounds pretty nice the install was easy well besides the hangers were a slight pita to deal with once the stock off off the install went very fast!

i did notice power right away over stock... thats the same with the header too

There should be a notice in horsepower. With the TRD u'll retain the lower end as it has the valve inside like the stock unit but flows alot better on the top end. If u want a sound clip check out xateam.com as we have a sound clip thread goin on. dexter_5000 has a clip of one with a Blitz SUS and a header and that clip is what made me decide to go with the TRD. Now I just need some $$ to get it.

the TRD is a really nice exhaust for the xA. I was 100% set on a TRD before my sponsorship with Strup went through, so I went with the Strup exhaust instead. I absolutely love the Strup, but the TRD was always on top of my exhaust list.... youll be really happy with the TRD!

I have the Borla, but was told that they make the TRD, so I'd say go for it. I got the Borla because I found it for less than the TRD.

That's the cheapest I found the TRD Muffler for.

Default Thank You

Thank you everyone for the advice on the TRD thats what I'm going to go with. My mechanic will install it for me. The last time we had the car up on the rack to install suspension parts I took a look at the stock muffler. I did't see any bolt on fittings, I sume it has to be welded on. Is trhis correct? Sorry I'm not very mechanical I just like to drive fast on mountain roads.

No welding, just bolt it on. Its a clamp.

Does either effect the fuel economy? I understand the lower back pressure can cause lower mpg.

If u keep revin the engine to hear the exhaust it will, lol. Naw just drive the car normally and its suppose to actually increase mpg, very slightly but still an increase. And the TRD has a valve in it to keep the backpressure at lower rpms so ur lowend power doesn't suffer.

If it sounds great, I am sure to rev it. Does it sound nice and throatie or like a ricer with a 5 lb coffee can as an exhaust pipe?

The clip I've heard of it the TRD sounded very nice. http://xateam.com/forums/showthread.php?t=510&page=2 That link will take u to page 2 of our exhaust sound clip thread. dexter_5000 has a clip on there with a TRD axleback as well as a Blitz SUS intake and an MMW header (both will make the exhaust sound different). His setup sounds awesome. There's also a soundclip thread on here as well. Search for the TRD axleback and u should find a clip of just a TRD muffler and nothing else on an xb. I'll see if I can locate it. But dexter's is the best clip by far.
