I have a Scion xA 2005 it has a silver and grey keyless remote. I am the second owner. I lost a remote and just received the new Scion remote in the mail. It is a similar configuration lock unlock buttons on front,
only the new one has the words lock and unlock and my original has pictures.

Anyway I have been reading instructions to program remote. Do they need to look exactly the same? If I try to program the new one, it would appear from the directions that will erase my old one.

Any thoughts on how to proceed?
