Spent 6 hours installing the unit and went to see if it would work nothing. My father in law who was a mechanic and owned his own shop at one point helped me install the unit. But nothing. We checked the grounded and all the cables. Just not getting any power at all. Plus we tested the power wire nothing at all.

You already indicated your problem. No power to the unit. The instructions indicate the incorrect wire to connect to. I used a spare connection on the fuse panel
