Throttle Body Spacing
I've read on some sites that an increase in the throttle bady space would increase airfolow, i'm a little skeptical to this. And also about running a different hose around the throttle body to recieve cooler air.
yes. increasing throttle body you obviously provide bigger opening for airflow, thus more air goes in = more HP.. Plus, sometimes aftermarket throttle bodies are not only big, but also more responsive.. Basically, its good.
As far as the hose around the throttle body??? what hose? you mean the intake pipe? if yes, that would be the cold air intake that you need to get.

oh.. well in that case, i dont really think it would make that much of difference if you change that hose. I wouild think, if you are putting bigger throttle body, bigger coolant hoses (in/out) wouldnt be a bad idea, but the effect wouldnt really be noticible. Wouldnt hurt though.
Well I saw a throttle body spacer somewhere on here that spun the air that comes in after throttle body. I would think it would help gas milage a little bit. My dad put one on his 4.0L jeep and it made a 2 mpg diff but thats a way diff motor type and all.... So it mite, it mite not help..... I say do it and report back any gains you find if any....

nope its multi port fuel injection. Its a 2001. I will still benifit from it a bit. The air will pass through the throttle body butterfly then start to spin and should spin all the way into the combustion chamber. Atleast thats the idea behind it. It does seem to help. As for our cars maybe not just because they are burn most to all the gas already. I have noticed on my car the exhaust doenst have much carbon build up. Which tells me that it runs very well.
for quicker throttle response get one of these

a bigger throttle body will give you power gains, but a spacer is an absolute waste of money. think about this a throttle body spacer is like a carb spacer and you would figure they both work the same. a carb spacer allows the fuel that is poorly squirting out of the carb to have more travel giving it more time for the air and fuel to mix better allowing for a better combustion netting more power. now how does this work on fuel injection? it doesn't since the injector spray the fuel in a fine mist before the intake valves having a far supperior air fuel mixture. just adding a spacer to the throttle body will have pretty much no effect in helping to better the air fuel mixture or adding more air. save ur money on something else that will have an actual effect in power and not some pretty overrated slab of aluminum.
