I just got the title and other paperwork for the XA I've had for a month now. I was surprised to see no mention of Scion, only Toyota. Actually it's says "TOY". Is everyone else's registered simply as Toyota (or TOY)?

my tC says toyota aswell on most of the paperwork

interestingly enuf, the insurance form says Scion tC (i have an 06)

my buddy has an 05 tC but his insurance says toyota celica

Since the Scion name is a TMC marketing creation for the US domestic market, as the Lexus brand name is, legally your vehicle is still a Toyota and the DOT is obligated to record the most common name of the vehicle manufacturer in case of any liability. And more so since there is no Scion ID (or Lexus) in any code character in the VIN. It is just a technicality but the vehicle is a JTT being the third character the manufacturer code.

My N.C. title reads Toyota xA, but after reading Amlux TRD's post I have a better understanding about it.

yes but lexus is in Japan now, so it's becoming it's own recognized car company...it's still toyota...but it's turning into more of an audi/vw type thing

In Pa a Lexus is registered as a LEXUS, not a Toyota.

State of Wisconsin states my Scion as "Toyota."

Then American Family Insurance also states "Toyota" as make but for model "ScionXA"

before it was imported here... scion xA's original name in japan is toyota IST. ok? they just changed it from toyota to scion just for marketing reasons...
