When Codes Don't Match Symptoms???
Hi. Definitely new here and I did read noob info, and read through lots of posts... so. My 2006 xa recently had the engine replaced because the block was warped--something that the mechanics at the shop missed when they did a head job 5 months ago. At that time I took the car in because of hesitation and missing with a CEL and multiple codes. Eleven weeks ago I took the car back in with hesitation on acceleration and CEL codes indicating some problem with the evaporative emissions system-multiple codes. That's when they diagnosed warped block and replaced the engine. I brought the car home and noticed that it is still hesitating on acceleration (although not as badly) and the CEL codes are now P2401 and P2419. The problem I am having is that those codes point to the evaporative emissions canister but a defect anywhere in the canister assembly isn't supposed to cause acceleration hesitation. This car has 135000 miles on it and has been maintained well--I have not expected any of these issues, and I am at a loss as to what to investigate now. Prior to the beginning of this saga I had driven the car for four years with no issues. Is it possible for the two issues to be connected?
