I still have my xA. I do have a question though. Wondering if there is a way to fix my wiper motor or should I just replace it? I have normal and fast wipe, but no intermediate. Any suggestion?

I'm a more recently joined member of the forum, but I'm here with my xA. I've only had it a little over a year. 229K on the odo.

Try replacing the switch first.

The switch is where? Can you elaborate a little please? Thanks.

It’s the stalk on the right side of the steering column.

I'm the original owner of a 2005 xA with 265,000 miles. Minor items: driver's side door doesn't consistently lock via the button nor does the right rear.
I purchased and downloaded a Scion xA service manual but it is no very useful because it is filled with electrical stuff.
I need step by step instructions on how to open up the doors to get to the lock mechanism motor.

My plan for tomorrow is to take apart the front brakes and lube the caliper pins to see if that makes the squeak go away.
Hard to tell if the squeak is from the front or my half a$$ed drum brake job on the back.

I change my own oil with Mobile One full synth & filter. The car rattles and shakes and has since about 150,000 miles but I don't care because I still get 31-34 mpg.
The RPM swings with the A/C on and sitting at a stop light are getting annoying. If I get really motivated tomorrow then I'll try cleaning out the throttle body to see if that helps.

04 xA with 270K miles. still getting 32-34 MPG. need front struts and retinting windows. Had to replace deteriorated window felt seals recently as well as rear glass ($420) 8(
Drive every day 55 miles round trip, 95% interstate speeds. Great car for past 15 years, bought new in '04 for $13,545.00.

2006 xa auto, blue, 66k. Purchased down south to pull behind my RV. No rust so easy to work on. Have replaced rear wheel bearings myself, easy and cheap to do. Only fading was on side mirrors which have covered with carbon fiber wrap to match the CF already on the B pillars. Used the aftermarket 3 bushings to fix the air filter housing shake. Hwy mileage up to 40mpg. Great buy so far!

Still driving and restoring my 05.
It was badly neglected and badly modified.
Taking it back to original.

I have spare parts leftover
aftermarket intake
strut bar
Front lowering springs

I also have a grille that looks aftermarket that I eventually want to swap on an original style.

Hi! My name is Ben. I'm new to the forum. My roommate just bought a 2006 xA with 216000 miles. The original owner is a friend of mine so I've known the car since 2014 or so. I'm about to start a new post to introduce myself properly.

I have a 2005 xA with 135,000 miles and I started having some kind of electrical problems on my way home from work tonight.

135,000, eh? That's almost broken in. :)

If you can describe the symptom(s) of the 'electrical problems', someone here might know how to fix them.

I replaced my alternator with a parts chain unit and it died again after a year.
Then I got a used OEM unit from a junk yard and it's been in there 3 years and still going.
Go with the OEM part if you can.

Still have my 2005 xA and love it! Though I moved to Canada and it's not legal to drive here since it needs some work. I bought it new and have had no problems at all with it until the power steering started failing a year or two ago.
This is the most sturdy and reliable vehicle I've ever driven, so I'm looking into getting it fixed and legal though I'm not sure the cost will end up being worth it if more stuff starts to break down.

Can't bring myself to just scrap such a great car though.
