will an xA remote covers fit a xB remote ?
will an xA remote covers fit a xB remote ? done a search- no results. my scion dealer had no clue. I have put a red cover up to my stock cover- it looks like it will fit but i didnt try to pry open the remote and check since i was at the dealer......
If I remember correctly there was a thread about being able to self-program the remotes outside of a dealership...I would assume both keyfobs run the same frequencies (xA and xB)...Could we buy the colored keyfobs and program them ourselves???
I'd like a colored one too

the whole fob is not colored. What you get for $20 bucks is a "cover" which is just the top part of the remote. My dealer showed me a red one and I put it up to my black fob, and the outer shape fits. The only difference is the buttoms are a little taller , and it has a spot for a LED light. I hoping someone will chime in and say they have actually done this.....

I was in the parts department once and someone was trying to make it fit on their xB remote and it didn't fit. One more question, does it come with the front and the back b/c the parts department only gave them the front to one remote but, my salesman had the front and back on his xB remote. Why does it fit on some but not others?

I was going to get the clear but it wouldn't fit on my xb remote. The parts guy at Vallejo Toyota said they were having some problems with some of the them. He said that they changed the remote style on the xb and some of them work and others they don't. We tried on mine and even tried to force it on but it was a no go. Kinda pricey for just the front piece. The dealer should sell a whole case that would have made more sense.
how much are the covers anyway? I really want the blue one. My dealer told me they were for the xa only but I had a feeling that they might fit anyway, I mean the keyless remotes are the same arent they???
If your desperate, you can take the remote apart and spray paint the casing. Testors model master paints would work quite well. And then apply a coating of some kind of gloss cote. A can of model master spray paint runs 2-4 bucks, alot cheaper than getting a new remote.
Just an idea.
