2005 xB overheating
Ok
No one can seem to figure this out around my town
Only overheats when driving more then 20 Miles and ac on
Water comes out of reserve tank
Takes about gallon to fill back up
Drove 45 min on hwy with ac ran fine coming back 2o min into trip hot light blinks I turn ac off put on heat light goes off , put on ac comes on again
New #1 fan relay
Radiator cap
Water pump
Pcv valve
Thermostat
Flushed radiator
No leaks
50/50 running
Plugs
new points / plug wires
Head gasket checked and fine
Never see any leaks
Oil clean no water
Any ideas
And do I have one fan or two I saw relays #1 replaced not #2
This is 2nd engine in car
Last one I ran hot and blew ( of course) this engine has 75 ,000 on it
New brain I car when engine went took it along with it also new transmission modules (3)
I have done the easy stuff myself the other I take to machanic
Thank you
Again only when ac is on and 20 min of driving

Wild curvball here......
Is your radiator or condensor mildly clogged maybe? Not internally, but externally?
When you're moving, the clog isn't allowing enough airflow to make it through the radiator and the extra load and small amount of added heat from the A/C condensor are are making the conditions just right to allow the car to overheat??

Just look through your grille and see if there's a bunch of debris jammed in the cooling fins of the condenser, and look in the engine compartment and do the same thing both behind the radiator, and between the two..
Any confimation on the cooling fan engagment? typically, on a dual fan car the A/C fan turns on as soon as you activate the a/c. I haven't checked to see if our b's do the same thing as they are a single fan system.
P.S. make sure the large plastic baffle/plate is there to the right of the radiator/condenser. it forces air through the two instead of going around them...

Ac very cold
I changed only #1 fan relay think I need to replace fan #2 relay
Same relay works same fan which I thought was odd
I only see one fan though
