2005 xB shorts while driving, sometimes doesn't start
Can someone tell me what this blue grey 2 pin connector is for? I need to replace this connector first and foremost. That is the easiest fix on my list.

I haven't driven it since this problem, and I couldn't get it to start at all the next week so I let it sit for 6 weeks. Starts up fine right now without doing anything, but I am afraid to drive it until I figure out the problem. Solid maintenance light on. When I get a read on it, it says cylinders 2 and 4 are misfiring. Two of the ignition coils near the oil are a slightly oily, but I think that is a spillage issue. Spark plugs look fine. I don't know if I am looking at several items or just one major one. What else should I be looking for/testing out? |
That area is usually where the vapor canister purge valve is. Swap the ignition coils to see if that's the problem. Hope this helps out.

That's an incredibly clean engine bay! How many miles? Have you checked your grounds?

It's essential to address the misfiring issue in cylinders 2 and 4. Besides checking ignition components, ensure clean fuel injectors, inspect wiring, and consider potential vacuum leaks.
