Default 4-2-1 or 4-1-1

Is there any advantage in having a 4-2-1 header over the more prevalent 4-1-1?

Yes they do, MMW does but i personally wouldn't buy it. I wanted to till i did more research on it.

4-2-1 as said: low-mid range mostly gains, more tq.
4-1: mid-top end gains, loss of tq on bottom end.

Basically, if you want to rev a little higher for more power get the 4-1. If would rather not have to rev it as high for more power, get the 4-2-1.

However, it doesn't make much sense to just buy a header. I/h/e and you'll feel the gains.

I saw an OBX 4-2-1 on ebay. I have a K&N Typhoon and a 2.25" Magnaflow, so headers are the next logical step.

If you're willing to import it, 5Zigen makes a JDM 1-piece stainless 4-2-1 for the bB/xB. Bit pricey though,~$450, but the quality is tops. This would be my choice.

http://www.5zigen.co.jp/product/muff...old/index.html

Click on specs at the bottom and bB is first on list.

Weapon-r makes their header's for us. I personally am not a fan of weapon-r. Their quality tends to be on the cheap side of things, i've never seen the mmw header in person so i don't know. But i wouldn't risk spending the money on it.

bB has had a 1.0l, 1.3l, and 1.5l options. The 1.5l is different, but if i'm not mistaken the header/exhaust lay out is pretty identical. Its pretty much the same platform as our 1nz, just the jdm cousin.

You're pretty much right. The JDM 1.5L is the same 1NZ-FE that we have here, model# on the vehicle is the same too, NCP-31, thus the headers will fit ours no prob. I sent an email to 5Zigen to see if they would special order a set or are planning to bring them out here anytime soon, but haven't had a reply yet.

I have the MMW header and am very happy with it. It looks beautiful and the welds are well done. I highly recommend it. I got mine for $220 shipped.

Obx is cheap, extremely cheap. The few people who have bought obx that i talk to regularly, didn't have it on but for a week tops. Infact one, didn't even bother installing it. Over a somewhat short period of time, they tend to crack from heat, i've heard plenty of horror stories with obx. Its just a .
