I believe it wasn't in the intake shootout because the blitz intake is an adapter style intake. The ones tested in the shootout are full intakes with pipes. I hope this helps.

Even though it was a short-ram, I still think it should have been included in the intake shootout.

I had a chance to use this on my other car(celica) and the results were really good, but it does not filter worth a darn, so i would not recommend it. it's pretty much a steel mesh shaped like a filter.

wasn't the intake shoot-out for COLD air intakes? the blitz suck in hot air and has a ____ filter too.

A short ram and hydro lock? The car whole have to be flooded all the way to the hood of the car before you could hydrolock a short ram or if you poor water down a vent in the hood if it had it.......sorry thats not believable.....but in terms of a heat shield....yea I can see that.....its not to hard to get one....just get a universal one from someone that makes it

Default short arm

no no no bro you miss took what I said... I'd only use a short arm, only,.... those long armed cold air intakes at the bottom of engines ... that's just asking for trouble

I have the blitz, its cool but like everyone says it is in the wrong spot for cold air. Its not a tube design but still works great. Honestly its a filter for racing in my opinion because it has very low restriction upon entering the filter. On the other hand it doesnt filter out the dirt and dust very well. Its all just suction yo, I call it blow job betty-

Daily driver its ok just do regular throttle body maintenance-

Takin hot laps on the weekends its perfect-

They're not at the bottom of the engine in the scion They're right behind/Under the headlights. At around foglight level....That would have to be a nice flood...I'm so glad i'm in Cali....

I would extend it out to the front of the radiator behind the mesh of the bumper grills.

Default blitz

I don't have any experence with the blitz so sorry I can't help, just my advice stay away from the long armed intakes especially if you lower your car, I like the short arms and a heat shield.... once you hydro lock one engine you'll know what I mean... ofcourse it is sorta of wet here in maryland I guess if I lived in Cali or out in the sand by vegas or zona it wouldn't matter... who knows
