Default BOSCH IRIDIUM FUSION SPARK PLUGS

so i bought my box in mid march in 05 with 1 mile - now 2 years later and 28,000 miles later - i noticed that the mpg's and the performance wasnt what it use to be - so i figured time for some new plugs oh and air filter - so i went with the BOSCH IRIDIUM FUSION spark plugs (part # 4501) they were $9.99 each (pep boys) - when i removed the old plugs they were pretty bad so im hopeing i see a difference

well heres my plan i was rideing on E so i went to fill that tank - now im gona ride out the tank and check if i notice a difference in my mpg's - i can honestly say that at idle it seemed alot smoother and acceleration was a little crispier - before the fill up i did the math on my last tank it was 25.8 mpg my last fill up was the same thing - so like i said in about 5 days il see what this tank gets and see if there a big improvment

your not gonna see much difference from plugs.

plugs are recommended to be changed every 30K anyway so your just about on time. don't believe a plug is "pre-gaped" its a bunch of bull.

i got my 4 toyota plugs for less then ten bucks and gaped them and car runs better then it did before with the BS plugs i put in it. i don't remember the brand off hand.

im not lookin to get any power - i saw a great article on a mag dont remeber which one but the dynod a stock xb then added intake headers and exhaust it was a whopin 7hp gain at 6,000 rpm with no true gain in torque these engines will not produce any true whp gains with out any major mods like turbo/supercharger/nos/or high performance internals - im hopeing to freshen up the hp the motor produces already , im hopeing to see improvment in mpg's , smoother idel , and better acceleration

recomended i thought it was 30,000 and no sparkplug last forever i do know that most toyotas have 100,000 mile plugs - i would never leave plugs in my car that long but thats just me

I just put some in the box tonight. Noticable better idle. Smoother thru the power band as well. Now the real test is mileage gain. I will let you guys know in a few days.

dam your at 167 at half tank, i could never get that mileage... Heavy foot?? MOST LIKELY!! I gotta stop beating on my xA... I go through a tank of gas about every 5-7 days depending on how busy my life is at the time. Sometimes i can go 2 or 3 weeks without filling it up again.

At half tank on average i'm at 110-130, and 140 on a good day.

Don't waste your money. Smoother idle and thru the power band. But seems to be getting less milage than the plugs that came with it.

Dude seriously... Your CANNOT get 10hp from a pine tree air feshener... Only "new car scent" can do thet. Pine is only good for 5 at best

you guys failed to see the point of this thread - i was never expecting to see a hp increase i was hopeing to freshin up the hp the motor already has and yes the plugs did make a difference im getting 27-28mpg's which is better than the 25-26mpgs i was getting the idle was a little smoother and the low end torque felt a little healthier 2-now keep in mind that my car already needed new plugs so im not claiming that the bosh plugs are better than others

like i said before your not gona get any real power with out major mods i would never bother spending money on a intake, header, and exhaust theres no real gain there - kiddies save your cash and get NOS

Like I said....don't waste your money. I am getting less miles per gallon than I did with the old plugs. I am going with the guy that says save your money and buy normal copper plugs. I never did this for HP either. If I wanted to gain HP.... I'd go buy a Vette.
